Letter 6: Scorpio Season, Transformation & Rebirth, The Reproductive Organs, The Sacral Chakra
"Like a phoenix that is born out of ashes, we must honor the darkest parts of ourselves and the most painful of our life's experiences, because they are what allow us to birth our most beautiful self." – Debbie Ford
Happy Friday! Thank you for joining me again today for newsletter number six of the Mystic Moss Magick Newsletter! This has been so exciting for me so far, and somewhat challenging to think of ways to articulate what I already know in a way that can help others to learn and grow at their own individual pace. What a magical gift you have all helped me to achieve!
Today I am delighted to delve into my home zodiac sign and its seasonal meanings – SCORPIO! That’s right folks, it’s upon us. Scorpio Season. We are at the time of the year (at least in the U.S) where everything is growing darker, the beautiful colors on the mountains are shifting to deeper shades, the air is colder, it’s more challenging to find motivations, and it’s just about time to hibernate away for the winter season where we can confront the shadows and then emerge renewed in the Spring! I love talking about this process, because to me, it is one of the most beautiful things a person can go through even though it feels like the hardest and most unfair things at times. I want to stress the importance of change and transformation and why embodying the Scorpio season's energy can be really useful to us during all seasons of our lives!
Scorpio is ruled by the planet Pluto, and is known for being the most mysterious, passionate and intense of the twelve zodiac signs. Scorpios are loyal, determined, and can be ruled by a lifetime of transformations. If you are a double scorpio, like I am, you may find yourself seeking out things to overcome, or challenges that bring about drastic changes. This can be seen as an intense way of life, but it’s these changes and transformations that are essential for personal growth. Personal growth is vital because we exist to learn and become more whole. The only way to achieve this is by shedding the old and embracing the new. Scorpio season not only teaches us the importance of change but also encourages us to become more in tune with our spiritual and sensitive sides, which can help soften the intensity of life.
This season is an excellent time to explore those taboo interests you've been wanting to pursue, whether it's tarot, divination, meditation, astrology, holistic healing, herbs, or any other practice that goes beyond societal norms. Engaging in these activities will bring you in touch with Scorpio energy. While there are many positive aspects to look forward to this season, it's equally important to acknowledge the darker aspects Scorpio will be teaching us. These may include unhealthy attachments, stubbornness, secrecy, isolation, jealousy, and becoming overwhelmed by our emotions. You may find yourself struggling to balance your emotions in the coming months, but remember to show yourself compassion. Your shadow self is merely revealing what needs to be transmuted and released for your rebirth. Stay open to self-awareness during this time, as the more receptive you are to change, the easier it will be to accept your shadow side as an important part of yourself and move towards its integration.
Scorpio is also associated with ruling the reproductive system in astrology. Just as the sign embodies intense and transformative qualities, it governs the processes of life and death, including birth and reproduction. This sign is connected to the mysteries of creation and the cycle of rebirth. The transformative energy of Scorpio is evident in the changes that occur during life. As we talk about how intense and deep this zodiac sign season is, I can’t leave out the deep world of the emotions that are so connected to the reproductive system that is governed by this sign. There are many parts, and workings that are behind each of our individual systems.
Each emotion in our ethereal and energetic bodies, plays a big part in our physical bodies, and vice versa. As stated by my FAVORITE reference, “feelings buried alive never die” by Karol K Truman, the reproductive system can be affected by the following –
Uterus, Vagina & Ovaries
-
Has to do with negative feelings towards the mother
-
Negative views on creation
-
Repressed anger at masculine energies
-
Sexual guilt
-
Feeling the need to punish self
-
Loss of someone or something loved
-
Feelings of loneliness
-
Feelings of inadequacy
-
Desire to feel love and respect
Yeast Infections:
-
Unresolved resentment
-
Lack of self love
-
Unable to accept self, and own power
Male Problems
-
Feelings of inadequacy
-
Refuses letting go of the past
-
Unfulfilled in love
-
Feelings of apathy
-
Feeling separated
Remember that dis-ease and illness are just ways our body is showing us imbalance that is created through our external lives as well as our internal selves. If you deal with any reproductive issues, and some of these emotions resonate more than you would like to admit, then dive deeper into these emotions and find out if these are part of the whole of why you are out of balance!
It is easy for me to remember which emotion correlates to which body part, depending on the chakra that it is nearest to. Chakras are energy centers within the human body that align along the spine. There are seven main chakras, each associated with specific aspects of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. These energy wheels are believed to influence various facets of our life, from our root chakra at the base of the spine, which relates to stability and security, to the crown chakra at the top of the head, associated with higher consciousness and spiritual connection. Balancing and aligning these chakras is thought to promote harmony and overall health.
The chakra that is associated with the reproductive system would be what is known as the Sacral Chakra, that sits two finger widths below the navel. It is represented by the color orange, and is in charge of things like passion, creativity, sexuality, desire and overall intimacy. If this chakra is out of balance you may experience things like codependency, disconnection, guilt, shame, menstrual imbalances, male imbalances, and more. To get things back into balance with this chakra, there are practices such as purposeful movements like yoga or dance, tantra, using orange essential oil, or a blend of orange, lemon and patchouli, guided meditations (I will link my favorite meditation music at the end), eating citrus or foods that are orange in color like carrots or turmeric, and many other things that if you are interested in the chakras I suggest you look up more specific ways and get creative with practices that work the best for you!
