Letter 19: Pisces Season, Full Moon in Virgo & Tarot vs. Oracle
This week as we explore the celestial happening of a Full moon in the sign of Virgo, and how the energy from this can allow us to see the culmination of our self care efforts and recognize how we can better our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health, as well as reflect on what we can change and adapt from our current routines. We also dive deeper into the meaning of Pisces season and how it can affect us on our journey and how we can utilize the energy through different recipes and magickal tools. We wrap up this week with learning more about a common topic most people ask about, the difference between choosing and using a tarot deck versus an oracle deck. Whether this is for spiritual guidance or insights, we can learn here how to use our decks the most effectively during Pisces season and most importantly, gaining insights on how to continue to manifest and connect to ourselves and our personal needs during the full moon in Virgo.
So get comfortable, take a few deep breaths, and let’s begin.
“You wouldn’t criticize the moon for not shining the same each night. You don’t look up at it and say “you’re not trying hard enough”, because the moon doesn’t have to be full and bright every night to be loved, and neither do you.”

Pisces season began February 19th and goes until March 20th. This sign has the energy of intuition, dreaminess, deep emotions, and wisdom. This sign is very easily seduced by emotions however, so when this sign is being led by heart and their mind is in the clouds they tend to become dissociated from reality and are ruled by the senses rather than logic. On the best days this energy will bring us wisdom through emotions, and allow us to see things from a new perspective of love rather than logic. This sign and its energy can be a very double edged sword.
As the season unfolds, the cosmic energy takes on a dreamy and introspective quality, influencing our emotional and spiritual realms. Pisces, ruled by Neptune, the planet of imagination and intuition, encourages a deep dive into our subconscious and a heightened sensitivity to the energies around us. During this time, we may find ourselves more attuned to our emotions, empathy, and artistic inclinations. The intuitive and compassionate nature of Pisces inspires a desire for connection, both with ourselves and others. However, there is a potential for increased emotional sensitivity and a need for self-care, as the boundaries between reality and fantasy may blur. It's a period that calls for reflection, creativity, and a gentle understanding of our own and others' emotions. The energies of the season encourage us to embrace the mystical, tap into our intuition, and navigate the ebb and flow of emotions with grace and compassion.
During Pisces season, it is important to learn how to harness the ethereal energy. This can be a transformative journey towards self-discovery and heightened creativity. Embrace the intuitive currents that flow during this time by engaging in practices like meditation, journaling, and artistic expression. Allow your imagination to flourish, explore creative pursuits, and dive into projects that align with your innermost passions. This season is conducive to deepening connections with others through empathetic communication and acts of kindness. Cultivate a sense of compassion, not only towards those around you but also towards yourself. Focus on self-care routines that nurture your emotional well-being, such as gentle exercises, soothing baths, or moments of quiet contemplation. Use this period to strengthen your connection with the spiritual aspects of life, whether through mindfulness practices, spiritual studies, or connecting with nature. It invites you to surrender to the flow of life, trusting your instincts, and embracing the beauty of the unknown.

As we continue on the path of the Piscean, we will be experiencing yet another cosmic energy shift that comes to us in the form of the Full Moon in Virgo. Matching up with the sun in Pisces this energy also allows us to take a new form of accountability towards our self healing. Just as the season asks us to tune into compassion with ourselves and others, and beckons us towards the act of learning how to better care for our spirits as well as our mental health, the sign of Virgo only enhances that energy. What have you been ignoring? What eating habits do you need to get rid of? Have you been drinking enough water? Is a certain healing modality calling to you now more than ever? It is time to embark on these journeys that allow your soul's vessel to vibrate higher through acts of care as the energies of the universe continue to climb to higher levels as well.
The Full Moon is an important event that brings forth energies of practicality, and a keen attention to detail. Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury, representing communication, and a sense of clarity and analytical insight. This Full Moon encourages us to assess and refine aspects of our lives with a discerning eye, focusing on organization, efficiency, and overall well-being. It's a time to declutter both our physical spaces and mental landscapes, allowing for greater productivity and a renewed sense of purpose. The earthy nature of the full moon calls for grounding practices, which can be more helpful than you think during the time of Pisces. Such as connecting with nature or engaging in mindful activities we can embrace the opportunity to set realistic goals, make thoughtful adjustments, and prioritize self-care. This Full Moon invites us to strike a harmonious balance between the ideal and the practical, our inner and outer worlds, and allows us to see the practical way to manifest our dreams, guiding us to personal growth and a deeper understanding of our capabilities.

The zodiac sign for February through March allows us to connect to our witchy practice in many ways. Opening our third eye, tuning us into our emotions, and helping us to see our dreams from a childlike state are some of those ways. The Full moon in Virgo grounds us into a practical way to achieve these dreams as well as connect us to our inner desires and passions in a creative way. What divination tool more matches this than the practice of reading tarot and oracle cards? Tarot and oracle cards are very similar in the sense that they both come in the form of cards with meaningful images, and a booklet that describes in intimate wordage the meaning behind questions and situations. I want to talk more about their differences and how using them together can prove to be more helpful than using one over the other. However this might also help you discern which deck you want to use in your daily practice if you simply don’t have access to both!
The distinction between tarot and oracle cards lies in their historical origins, structure, and the way they are utilized for divination. Tarot cards have a well-defined system of 78 cards, divided into Major and Minor Arcana, each with specific meanings and symbolism. Oracle cards, on the other hand, lack a standardized system. They come in diverse sets, each created with a unique theme or intention. Oracle decks offer more creative freedom and flexibility, allowing for interpretation based on the imagery, intuition, and the creator's intention. While tarot tends to follow a specific structure, oracle cards offer a more personalized and fluid approach to divination. Both tarot and oracle cards serve as tools for insight, reflection, and guidance, but their differences lie in the systems they adhere to and the level of structure they bring to divinatory practices.
Using them together can be really useful in the sense that you can get a specific answer through tarot, and then use an oracle deck to help you see the positive side or the possible ways to integrate thoughts or actions to assist in achieving the desired outcome. During the full moon it is recommended (by me) that you sit with your favorite decks and let the universe and the open portal of Pisces energy give you direct insights on how you can best take care of yourself and your manifestations. The full moon as well as the intuitive energies can really heighten your readings since both offer very insightful and powerful spiritual energy! Let the cards be your guides and your bridge to access inner wisdom and information from your guides.

I have so many favorites, when making a decision for using one or the other it all comes down to personal preference, and what you are being drawn and called to use! You would be surprised when you’re at a store or searching online and a deck just screams at your energy that it wants to work with you. You will know when you know.
Thanks so much for joining in this week! I hope the information finds you well and you are able to utilize it to your best intentions.
